'Lyrical' is the most popular genre of dance, typically in the competitive dance world. Deeply rooted in emotion, using the medium of dance to tell a story and most importantly using dance as the illustration of  song lyrics. 

Lyrical dance embodies various aspects of Ballet, Jazz, Acro, Contemporary and in some cases Musical Theatre. 

This is an incredibly beautiful dance genre but requires a strong understanding of technique and flare for performance.

Sophie's Studio excels in teaching young dancers in this particular style. The Dance School boasts both Junior and Senior Elite competition teams who have won numerous titles at competitions both locally and nationally. The most notable win being the winners of TeenstarUK 2019. TeenstarUK is a national song and dance talent search which annually receives more than 10,000 entries. Sophie's Studio Senior Lyrical Elite Team were the overall winners of 2019. The win saw them take home a cash prize of £2500 and a plethora of prizes, at the finals held at The O2 in London in January 2020.
